Brooklyn singer/songwriter Phoenixx drops her new single “My Story,” a personal tale of reflection, struggle, and success.
Over soothing production and a fluttering drum kick, Phoenixx sings of overcoming true-life hardships.
“See my life wasn’t no Hollywood tale, I grew up just trying to eat well / We didn’t have much, but I still knew I was blessed…never knew I was that strong / But I proved it, I rose up out the ruins,” she sings on the second verse.
“It’s a narrative of my experiences as a child and how it developed me and prepared me to move on to better things,” Phoenix explains.
