Atlanta-based, 18-year-old artist Jayla Darden released her 118 EP earlier this year, perking our ears up to this rising talent. She’s since followed it up with a dope single titled “Trial & Error.”
Produced by Henny Tha Producer, the song offers up smooth 90s melodies over a contemporary bassline, which seems to be Darden’s signature sound.
The song expresses hesitation when entering a relationship despite the obvious chemistry. “Before I say I’m all in, tell you that I’m falling / I think we should become a little closer, get to know each other,” she sings on the pre-chorus.
