Grammy-award winning R&B, jazz and soul singer Macy Gray is back with a new original song, “Annabelle.”
Macy Gray calls “Annabelle” one of her favorite tracks. “It speaks to all the suffering you go through when you’re trying to quit a habit. At the same time the mood of the song inspires a craving for a big fat joint,” she says.
“Annabelle” has a very bluesy feel to it compliments to the production of the overall track and the electric guitar at the intro of the song. It’s so authentic, you would have thought B.B. King was playing!
Stripped marks Macy’s debut project on Chesky Records and a return to her Jazz roots. “Annabelle” is the first single from the jazz-infused album, which is set to released on September 16th. The album was recorded live with the instrumentation on high resolution audio in a decommissioned Brooklyn church around one binaural microphone.
