Janelle Monae probably single-handedly brought all the Prince tributes to their knees at The 2016 BET Awards. Her high-energy performances always impress, but this tribute was on another level.
She began with his song “Delirious,” then transitioned into “Kiss,” “Pop Life” and “I Would Die for You,” channeling his dance moves throughout. Rocking a white ensemble that transformed into classic Prince outfits (including the iconic booty cut-out), Janelle poured her heart into the performance for Prince to ensure it would definitely be something he would be impressed by.
