Next week, on July 1st, Maxwell will drop his first album in seven years, black SUMMERS night. He’s already released the smooth singles “Lake By The Ocean” and “1990X.” Now he’s back with a new one from the LP called “Gods.”
In the song, Maxwell focuses on an individual’s personal power, even when it comes to admitting a wrongdoing.
“If you want you can fly, you can float / You can walk, you can do what you want / But if the smallest seed of feeling is left in you / You will see you were wrong,” he sings.
blackSUMMERS’night is part two of the star’s three-part musical trilogy. On June 18th, Maxwell kicked off a 25-date tour, including a headlining slot at the 2016 Essence Festival in early July. Check out the summer tour dates at www.musze.com.
The crooner will also take part in a tribute to Prince at the 2016 BET Music Awards on Sunday, June 26th at 8 pm EST on BET.
