There seems to be a burgeoning resurgence of R&B girl groups, and NLA is on the forefront. It’s been five years in the making, but at last, the ATL girl group (members Janeen, Jess, and Nina) dropped their new EP Past Due.
It’s being called an “EP,” but the project is more like a full-length LP at a strong 13 songs deep. It’s being called “R&B and girl group greatness,” and if you like the newly-coined sub-genre “TrapSoul,” there’s a little bit of that on there for you, too. Migos, Shanell, Luke Christopher, Rico Love, and R. City all appear on the project, and all parties come together for a solid debut effort.
NLA was signed by Keith Thomas under the Good Look Entertainment imprint via Empire Music Distribution.
