Chicago-based singer/songwriter/producer Anthony Pavel has partnered with the Chicago Tribune’s Red Eye for the premiere of his long-awaited debut EP Windows.
Upon listening, you’ll instantly hear comparisons to Justin Timberlake with the smooth tracks and equally svelte melodies. With infectious gems such as “Herstory” featuring Saba and “Runaway” the 6-track offering makes for a solid introduction, beautifully showcasing Pavel’s impressive vocal range, soulful swagger, and undeniable charm. The overall sound is the EP is feel-good grooves to roll your car windows down and ride out just in time for spring/summer.
Chicago insiders and hip hop enthusiasts are already well acquainted with Pavel’s work – the burgeoning star produced “Comfort Food” from Saba’s widely praised Comfort Zone mixtape and sang on “Back Home” featuring Mos Def off ASAP Rocky’s latest album, At.Long.Last.ASAP. Most notably, he lent his silky vocals to “Food for Thought”, a jazz-infused collaboration with producer Ikon, Saba, NoName Gypsy, and Malcolm London.
