The songtress is a Bernie Sanders supporter, so she took part in the Democratic Presidential candidate’s “Community Conversation” event at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Saturday (April 9) where she sang multiple songs from her musical history including “Space Jam,” “W.A.Y.S.” and “Eternal Sunshine.”

The event held a panel discussion with Democratic presidential candidate Sanders, actor and activist Harry Belafonte, Erica Garner daughter of Eric Garner, and former Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner where they talked about community issues as well as the BlackLivesMatter movement.
