Ahead of his appearance on the series finale of “American Idol” this Thursday (April 7), Grammy-nominated “American Idol” winner and America’s “Velvet Teddy Bear” Ruben Studdard drops his new single “Can’t Nobody Love You.”
Ruben is known to channel the vibes of the late smooth crooner Luther Vandross, but for this song, he’s taken on the aura of another soul crooner, Al Green. Everything from the driving beat, to the horn blares, to simulating Green’s vocal twang, Ruben channels the classic soul of the 70s.
“Can’t Nobody Love You” stems from his forthcoming disc, When Love Calls Me, in stores October 28, 2016. The single will be available on iTunes Friday, April 8th.
