After singer/songwriter Kirby Lauren lent her writing talents to the likes of Beyonce (“Die With You”), Brandy (“Beggin’ & Pleadin”), Ariana Grande (“Break Your Heart Right Back”), Jennifer Lopez (“Let It Be Me”), and Kanye, Rihanna, and Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds,” among others, she’s ready to step out with music of her own.
Say hello to “Loved By You,” a twangy punch of soul that’s sure to grab your attention. On the doo-wop-inspired, guitar-led track, Kirby sings of a divine love by everyone aspires to experience.
“I gotta feel how it feels to be loved by you / I gotta touch something real , can I feel and be loved by you,” she soulfully wails on the chorus.
Lauren attended the Berklee College of Music, but dropped out after being inspired by Kanye’s 2004 album The College Dropout. “I by no means advocate dropping out of school, it was the hardest and scariest decision I ever made. . .One that I tried to undo many times. But, in the back of my mind, I always knew that if I continued to work, and create my own path, a door had to open. I don’t know if I ever would have the courage to think that way if I hadn’t heard The College Dropout,” she says.
She then was picked up by Roc Nation line up when she participated in “A Song A Day” contest.
