In 2014, Motown signee and BET Music Matters artist Kevin Ross broke on the scene with his offerings “Overrated,” “Don’t Say You Will” and his EP Dialogue In the Grey. He even scored a Glade candle commercial that used his song “This Is My Wish” for the 2014 holiday season and a summer 2015 single “Dream” ft. Chaz French.
Now he’s back with this smooth cover of Outkast’s 2003 single “Prototype” performed by Andre 3000. I’ve always loved this funky, Boosty Collins-like ballad, but here, Ross smooths it out with background harmonies and finger-snaps for a classic R&B joint.
