Before the Super Bowl yesterday (Feb. 8), Missy Elliott held a “Pep Rally” on Saturday in the form of a new, energy-filled song.
Like a football game in audio form, the track features a marching band sound complete with referee whistles, horns, and drum line-like percussion; Missy hypes up listeners for a (literal) big game and fun times (and figuratively what I’d like to think is her upcoming project).
“Jumpin and thumpin, man I got the crowd yelling,” she says on the track full of football references, but you can still “bounce” and “touch your toes” to this in the club, too!
Last year, Missy joined Katy Perry at the Super Bowl Halftime show and dropped her first single “WTF (Where They From)” ft. Pharrell.
