Erykah Badu puts her chill spin on both Whodini’s 1985s classic “Friends” and Kanye’s latest tune “Real Friends” with a joint called “Trill Friends”; but instead of praising close acquaintances, Badu calls out the bad ones.
“Homeboys, some of them we wish we never knew at all / Homegirls, some of them we wish we never knew at all,” she sings on the chorus.
This rough track is so new, it was recorded less than 24 hours ago. “JUST ride out to this… BADU MESSIN ROUND THIS MORNIN (really suppose be recording something else …),” the caption states. Fiyah in a flash…that's talent!
Her latest mixtape But You Cain’t Use My Phone was welcomed with open arms by fans and critics alike. The great reception motivated Badu to head back into the studio to make a forthcoming follow-up called This $h!t Too Easy.
