For over one month, Tamar Braxton was absent from her position as co-host of the daytime talk show The Real due to suffering a pulmonary embolism (at first diagnosed to be pneumonia). She also had to cancel concert appearances and forfeit her tenure on Dancing With The Stars.
But now, she/her Tamar is back! The star with the big personality returned to her seat on yesterday’s episode of The Real.
She wrote on Instagram:
“Thank you God! I'm Baaaaaack on @thereal today!! Don't miss it?? In my favorite #tamarcollection dress?”
“#superblessed today is my first day back on #Thereal thank you Jesus #tamartianfriends prayers work.”
On the episode, the doctors who cared for her explained just what went wrong that landed her in the hospital. It seems that the strenuous physical activity from her tenure on “DWTS” activated thoracic outlet syndrome, where the muscles around her rib became enlarged, blocking the blood from flowing to major veins and arteries in the arm and causing blood clots to form. To remove the pressure, Tamar underwent a procedure to remove a rib.
It’s good to see Tamar back and better! This news comes after it was announced Tamar was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance for her single “If I Don’t Have You.”
Congrats, and welcome back, Tamar!
