Alternative R&B singer-songwriter Elle Pierre, releases her newest single “Transition.”
Produced by Elete Wright, the alternative song sounds moody and emotional, and given the inspiration, it’s easy to understand why.
Elle told Afropunk:
"'Transition' was written while I was in a situation I'd like to call "lover's limbo." This is where you've crossed the boundaries of friendship with your partner and are now in the lover's zone… but your partner, for whatever reason is afraid of or avoiding the commitment of being in a relationship. Also known as he/she wants his/her cake and eat it. I wrote this song for my then lover, a fellow musician of course, to express my desire to move from this state of limbo into a place of romantic love. It didn't work out however this song remains very close to me and I'm sure there are women who can relate."
Elle Pierre’s spirited Panamanian-Caribbean cultural background and West Coast upbringing inspires her songwriting and styling. She attributes her sound to her inherent, deep-seeded roots in gospel, jazz and soul. Her very first performances were in her church’s gospel choir in Lynwood, California. Now based in Los Angeles, Elle Pierre has since collaborated with familiar creatives including Wu-Tang’s Cappadonna, Melo-X, ScienZe and Allan Fox.
The track is from her upcoming EP “Love, Elle” set to release next year, winter 2016.
