Yesterday, Mali Music and Jhene Aiko’s collab “Contradiction” from Spike Lee’s upcoming film Chi-raq surfaced, and now Jennifer Hudson’s contribution to the soundtrack has arrived.
Titled “I Run,” the song is a stirring gospel song full of faith and hope, and we know J-Hud can deliver a strong, emotional performance!
Over minimal instrumentation with just a keyboard and organ, Hudson sings, “I’ll press on through, I got faith to move mountains, I got faith in miracles, faith that I’ll be alright.”
Chi-raq (out December 4th) is a satire and modern-day adaptation of the ancient Greek play Lysistrata by Aristophanes and tackles the high crime rate problem in Chicago.
