Introducing Gloria Prince!
A Texas native who moved to Atlanta to pursue her career as a singer, Prince recently released a mixtape called XOGLO, which featured some popular 90’s and 2000’s R&B tracks including Aaliyah’s "Are You That Somebody" and TLC’s "No Scrubs." “I’ve been interested in becoming a singer since I was 13,” she said.
Today, she premieres her new Keyz-produced single “Right There” with Singersroom; it's relatable to many young women who've gone through tough times in relationships. “The song 'Right there' is referring to a girl who’s been hurt and let down countless of times in her relationships. Finally, she meets a guy who brings something extraordinary different to the table than what she’s use to. At this point, she’s down to skin and bones in her love life and she he has nothing left to offer him. She’s hoping though, once she is ready to trust, let someone in again and fully healed that he will be right there waiting for her.” She added that the song is based on a personal experience. It’s something that hits home with her but she believes there is a hope of finding something that can work.
Gloria has a few music influences from today’s R&B singers. “I would have to say Chris Brown inspires me. Watching him perform and the energy that bursts out of his dance moves makes me want get up and practice every single hour. I love to give an entertaining show with great music backing me. It’s something about when the beat drops that makes my body hit harder, brings my shoulders back further and my voice ready to attack. He makes me want to work harder to put on a great show like he does,” she said.
She also says she would describe her music as a painting. To her, in every painting there is a story and in every story there is a chain of events that make you into who are. She likes to feel the emotions and wants people to have a great vibe and relive their own memories when listening to her music.
When it comes to her future, Gloria wants to impact her generation with music and testimony. “I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in my mouth, but I’ve never allowed that to hinder what I want to do in life. I have goals to sell out stadiums across the world like Madison Square Garden, give back to communities worldwide and, of course, be a Grammy award-winning artist,” she explained.
She has a set goal and a big vision to succeed. Gloria is currently finishing up her debut EP called The Road to Glorie.
