Her new album Unbreakable debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The LP (which dropped on Oct. 2) marks her seventh No. 1 album of her career, making her the third artist to have a No. 1 album in the last four decades ('10s, '00s, ‘90s and '80s).
According to Nielsen Music, in its first week, Unbreakable sold 116,000 units, 109,000 of that are whole album sales. All of this culminates into a feat because Jackson did it independently on her own Rhythm Nation label without a huge media push. Jackson only appeared on the BET Awards to accept the Ultimate Icon Award, on Unbreakable World Tour, and released a video for the first single “No Sleeep.”
Congrats to Ms. Jackson!
