After dropping two singles “Hip-Hop” and the Lil Wayne-assisted “Why I Do It,” August Alsina has finally announced the name of his forthcoming sophomore offering: This Thing Called Life is the chosen title of the opus.

August mentioned the title on Twitter when he posted an Instagram video of DJ Khaled’s comments about the project after playing it for him.

“Played my new album #ThisThingCalledLife for Khaled nem',” he wrote. “Here's some of what they had to say [ pt.1 ]." In the short video, Khaled gave the project high praise, comparing it to the classic albums by Nas, Dr. Dre.

“The structure’s unbelievable, man….I like the way you sequenced the album. I love the music. The only time I’ve ever heard albums like that was Dr. Dre’s Chronic or Nas’ Illmatic,” Khaled told August.

Those are some strong comparisons!

This Thing Called Life is due towards the end of 2015.
