Rudy Currence mixes electro/dance with soul in is new single, "Royal Blue," a cut from his upcoming album, The Coronation.
The track starts with an uptempo dance beat then becomes soulful with chords and Currence's gritty vocals and melody. "Hey hey heys" enter on the middle for a hype-break, and female background vocals add yet another sonic layer to the song: "Don't leave me blue," they sing.
About the upcoming album, Currence said, "I genuinely love house, electro and dance type music, and I believe people all over the world can feel this type of music. I want to reach those people; one of my goals as an artist is to have a more worldwide appeal. My fanbase is growing tremendously in places like the UK and Brazil so I wanted to expand my reach with something new. This is just a part of the vibe I’m on, there’s much more on The Coronation."
The Coronation is slated to arrive in early 2016. Check out Rudy's previous release, "Bye Felicia."
