The-Dream is probably celebrating a major weight lifted form his shoulders this weekend…
Last year, the hit songwriter-producer (b. Terius Nash) turned himself in to be questioned extensively by the NYPD for allegedly beating and threatening his pregnant-at-the-time ex-girlfriend, Lydia Nam, in late 2013. Nash denied the allegations, claiming she’s made up the story to stay in the U.S., as she’s a Canadian citizen.
But last week, Nash attended the court hearing accompanied by his new wife Lalonne Martinez. The judge completely threw out the case and the charges against the musician. He faced up to seven years in prison if found guilty. The NY Daily News reports Nash “"did a short dance" while leaving the courtroom on Thursday (March 12).
“After a thorough investigation, we have determined that we cannot prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt,” prosecutor Jacqueline Cornell said.
Bet he'll be breathing one huge sigh of relief for months to come!
