K. Michelle has never been the one to hold her tongue. To support the launch of her “My Twisted Mind” tour, the “Love 'Em All” songstress sat down with San Francisco’s 106KMEL recently, and cleared up a bunch of recent headlines, including her drummed up beef with rappers Nicki Minaj and Uncle Murda.
Michelle’s rumored beef with Minaj came on the heels of a video that saw her dancing to the Young Money emcee’s ex-boyfriend’s song. K insist situation was heightened by the media, and that she meant nothing by it.
“I love Nicki Minaj! I love what she’s done for female rap. That’s all I can say about that,” explains K. Michelle to Shay Diddy. “If she took offense to me bouncing my ass to her ex’s song, [then] I’m sorry, but I will bounce my ass to ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb.’ It’s no shade from that. It’s no issue.”
K. Michelle is definitely keeping it real — Last August (2014), she revealed her must have collaborations, and it was Nicki Minaj and Anita Baker.
This respect for Nicki Minaj isn’t carrying over to another rapper, Brooklyn’s Uncle Murda, who made recent comments about her.
“In the first place, the level and caliber of men I date don’t know no Uncle Murda,” she says. “Like, I don’t even know you. So you were just on Love & Hip Hop I saw the other night, rapping. You know where your career is if you’re a rapper on Love & Hip Hop.”
The second stop on K. Michelle “My Twisted Mind” tour is tonight at the Saban Theatre in LA. The trek supports her sophomore album, Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?, which debuted at #1 on the R&B chart.
