Well, if it was supposed to be a surprise, it’s not anymore.
A person familiar with the plans for Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show told The Associated Press on Thursday (Jan. 29) that Grammy winner Missy Elliott will make a surprise appearance during Katy Perry’s halftime performance.
No word from the NFL as yet on this report.
Perry tapped Elliott for her 2011 song, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”
"When you hear the first ring of the chord. I think jaws will drop and faces will melt,” hinted Perry during a recent press conference, insisting an "old school" female singer will hit the stage.
The show will also feature Lenny Kravitz, and rumor has it that Katy’s BFF Rihanna may also make a surprise appearance.
