Chicago’s “Songstress Of Soultrap” Lili K had us hypnotized on her “Come In,” was assisting Lorine Chia on “Help,” jazzying up Disclosure’s “Latch” and providing jazzy vocals the hip-hop scene all over Chi-Town. She even released three EPs My Favorite Things, Metal Petals, A Prelude to Hello.
Now Lili is prepping her debut, self-produced full-length album Ruby headed by this whimsical and humorous video for the single “Tommy," and the singer’s voice is smooth as butter on this style song. The clip mirrors the vintage-ness of the tune as she sings about her fancies of a guy named Tommy, who appears throughout the clip with his smooth Steve Urkel-esque swag. Will Lili catch his eye?
Ruby is due out on April 21.
