The R&B World Mourns The Loss of Beloved Sports Anchor Stuart Scott

It’s a sad day for the sports and entertainment world!

Beloved sports anchor Stuart Scott, 49, passed away this morning (January 4) after succumbing to his battle with cancer, which he has been fighting since 2007.

Scott worked for ESPN since 1993, and he quickly became one of the network’s most well-known SportsCenter anchors. He is also well-known for his catchphrases like “Boo-Yah!” to “As cool as the other side of the pillow” to “He must be the bus driver cuz he was takin’ him to school.”

“When you die, it does not mean you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, & in the manner in which you live” – Stuart Scott

Stuart’s death has touched many a people, and a few artists from the R&B world paid their respects to the sports legend.

“Heart is heavy this morning. We lost a true true true warrior with the passing of Stuart Scott. To everyone in the fight, stay strong. We are praying for you and sending positive energy your way.” – Eric Roberson

“RIP @StuartScott. ?? You inspired me so much. You finished your race, fighting all the way. Praying for your loved ones & family. <3" - Jordin Sparks

“Rest in peace, Frat. You changed the landscape of expectation. Your way is now the norm. Well done. #legacyofswag” – Anita Baker via Kevin Whalum

“#RIPStuartScott u will be missed my friend #damn” – Brian McKnight

Our thoughts go out to Stuart’s beautiful daughters, Taelor, 19, and Sydni, 15, his family and friends during this difficult time. His legacy will live on!
