Budding singer-songwriter Meleka forayed into dance music for her initial releases, but after experimenting with producers Basement Jaxx and Snakehips, the newcomer has found herself a sweet alternative niche by incorporating R&B into her sound.
This new direction has inspired the new project, The Funkin 90’s EP, which will see her covering seven (7) of her favorite 90s songs, including this first offering, “You Don’t Know,” originally sung by R&B group 702, and produced by !ntalekt.
Well, if this is Meleka’s introduction to the R&B world, we welcome her with open arms. Her tone is sweet and soulful, and her vocal delivery is on point as she delivers the unique rendition, which should demand the attention of new listeners.
