Lifetime’s Aaliyah Movie Draws 3.2 Million, Plus Timbaland Gets ‘Vocal’ via Hot 97

Despite the obvious issues many have with it, Lifetime's "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B" was a major success for the network and producers, including Wendy Williams.

"The Lifetime Original Movie Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B delivered 3.2 million Total Viewers in its world premiere Saturday night. Starring Alexandra Shipp as the beloved actress and music sensation, the movie also averaged 1.7 million Adults 18-49 viewers, 1.6 million Adults 25-54 viewers, 1.3 million Women 18-49 viewers and 1.2 million Women 25-54 viewers at 8:00pm, according to Nielsen Fast Cable Ratings. Among Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B ranks as this year’s #2 movie telecast on cable, behind Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic," reports Lifetime.

In related news, Timbaland called in to Hot 97 to discuss the movie with Ebro, at one point calling it a "mockery". Listen to that interview via the clip below.

"I don't have no control. I'm just really hired help. We became close. We became a family… That don't mean that I can control how to do things…." — Timbaland.
