The Wait Continues! D’Angelo Announces New International Tour

Let me start off by saying… sorry U.S. fans!

If you want to see Soul/R&B veteran D'Angelo live, you will have to spend money on a flight to trek across the pond or continue to patiently wait. The "Untitled" hitmaker has announced a 2015 tour with all UK dates.

The upcoming 13-stop tour will take flight on February 11 in Zurich, Switzerland and make stops in London, Germany, and Sweden before wrapping March 7 in Brussels, Belgium.

D’Angelo will be joined by his band, The Vanguard, which includes bassist Pino Palladino, guitarists Jesse Johnson and Isaiah Sharkey, keyboardist Cleo “Pookie” Sample and drummer John Blackwell.

“Despite the increasing popularity of sequencers, Auto-Tune, backing tracks, and lip synching, D’Angelo and his band The Vanguard perform every note live,” according to a press release.

The tour is expected to come back to the U.S. in 2015.

As far as D’Angelo’s long-awaited next studio album, the last we heard was his manager, Kevin Liles, telling Billboard: “There'll be an album this year… all the recording is basically done and we're mixing and mastering now.”
