Annie Lennox has built quite a successful career and name for herself over the years, however, her reputation was slightly slammed after an alleged verbal attack on Beyonce.
When speaking on the topic of ‘Feminism,’ this past Tuesday, Annie assured HuffPost Live Reporter Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani that she had no intentions on disrespecting the pop star. She goes on to explain the simple comparison she was trying to make between Queen Bey and those who are at the forefront of the Feminist Movement.
The Scottish singer-songwriter mentioned that due to her interiews normally being conducted over the phone, things get lost in translation. She says:
"It came across as if I was slighting Beyoncé," she said, adding, "[that] was not the case, not the intention whatsoever. I commend her."
After expressing her point of view, Lennox goes on to praise the "Irreplaceable" singer.
"I adore Beyoncé," she said. "I think she is a sublime performer, artist. I think there's no one who can touch her."
Lennox's new album, "Nostalgia," is available now.
