Queen Bey is extending her reign to the radio airwaves.
According to Billboard, local radio station News92 FM, which is owned by Radio One, is switching up its format to provide a 24/7 Beyoncé-only discography session.
A statement posted on the station’s website reads:
News92, Houston’s first FM all-news radio station, aired its last broadcast Wednesday, October 8, 2014 … This difficult decision is a result of sustained poor ratings performance and significant financial losses over the past three years despite the substantial financial and human resources we invested.
In an interview with H-town’s television news station ABC 13, an employee of Radio One, Yashima Azilove said:
She’s Queen Bee. In looking to make a transition, we go back to what we know. We know urban radio. We’re in Houston; the combination seemed like a winning one.
The station has already begun its around-the-clock Beyoncé circulation.
