Sam Smith, Marsha Ambrosius and Chris Brown Lead MOBO Nominations

Sam Smith and Marsha Ambrosius are leading nominees at the 2014 MOBO Awards.

Announced Tuesday, Music of Black Origin nominations also went to Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Estelle, Krept and Konan, Katy B, Drake, Beyonce, Jhene Aiko, Iggy Azalea, Ella Eyre and MNEK.

Leading with four nominations Sam Smith is up for MOBO Best Male Act, MOBO Best Song ("Stay With Me"), MOBO Best Album ("In The Lonely Hour") and MOBO Best R&B/Soul Act.

In the latter category, Best R&B/Soul Act, he is joined by Daley, Estelle, Jessie Ware and Marsha Ambrosius, who is also up for MOBO Best Female Act.

Slated to take place October 22 at London's SSE Arena, Wembley, the MOBO Awards will air on ITV2.

As reported earlier this year, organizers signed a deal with ITV to air the celebrated event for the next three years that will have highlights show on ITV and the entire show aired on ITV2.

"We are very excited that with our new broadcaster, the awards show will be receiving more support and attention than ever before. The new contract with ITV will help us celebrate the next generation of top talent, as the MOBOs continue to pioneer talent within urban music in the UK," Kanya King MBE, MOBO founder, said in a statement.
