Jhené Aiko is taking full advantage of her moment!
The L.A. singer-songwriter celebrated the release of her long-awaited debut album, Souled Out, which arrived in stores on Tuesday (Sept 9), with a performance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’
Taking the outdoor stage in Hollywood, CA, the 26-year-old R&B beauty performed a mini-concert, which included her latest single “The Pressure.” Wearing a cat ear headband, a sports bra and a long sheer white skirt and backed by a band, Aiko mellowed the crowd with her soulful delivery and laid-back persona.
Souled Out is on pace to secure a number one spot on next week’s Billboard 200 chart, but the set faces stiff competition.
“I feel like it’s an honest album of what I went through a year, two years ago. They’re not all sad songs. I appreciate when people listen to the sad songs, because it’s almost like telling someone your problems and having them listen with a compassionate ear. I don’t think I have a sad life. I just talk about all my feelings and emotions,” Aiko told Askmen.com
