CeeLo Green’s reputation continues to plummet following a series of controversial statements he recently divulged on Twitter about rape.
Last week, TBS cancelled his show ‘The Good Life’ and he was dropped from a U.S. Navy-sponsored concert and his headlining gig at a Louisiana music festival. Now, Alabama's BayFest Music Fest is also axing Green as a performer.
"In light of the recent comments attributed to CeeLo Green that are contrary to the beliefs and conscience of BayFest Music Festival, Mr. Green's performance at the 2014 BayFest Music Festival on Oct. 4 has been cancelled," the festival said in a statement.
The former coach on NBC's "The Voice" has since deleted his tweets and apologized for it, but had implied that women can only be raped if they are conscious. He added that people that have been raped remember.
"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! So WITH implies consent," wrote Green. "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"
Green pleaded no contest to a felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a woman in August. He had faced sexual assault charges in 2012.
