R&B singer Blu Cantrell, best known for the 2001 hit single "Hit 'Em Up Style," was reportedly taken into police custody for psychological evaluation after she went crazy running through the streets and ranting about people trying to kill her.
According to TMZ, around 2 AM on Wednesday, Cantrell lost it in a Santa Monica neighborhood:
Witnesses tell us she was screaming about someone giving her "poisonous gas." The episode went on long enough that someone called the police. We're told when officers arrived, Blu played the "do you know who I am card" … but also referred to herself as a "one hit wonder."
She was taken to a nearby hospital… Let's hope she's OK folks!
Cantrell tried to make a music comeback in 2012 after releasing the buzz single "S.O.S. (Tell Me Where You At)," which some speculated was a diss track against ex-lover Jay-Z.
"People do miss me and there is that mystery of where I’ve been," Blu told YouKnowIGotSoul about her comeback. There’s a lot of anticipation and there will be a lot of attention and there will be buzz."
She added about her upcoming album, "This is so much stronger than the last two albums and every song I emotionally put myself into. I want to be on my own and say, 'This is me, just me and now it's like Let's go. I’m ready!'"
