Chris Brown will not see any jail time in his Washington, D.C. assault case after taking a plea deal.
Appearing in court on Tuesday morning (Sept 2nd), the Grammy winner pleaded guilty to an assault charge, admitting that he struck a man outside a DC hotel last October (2013).
Accompanied by on again/off again girlfriend Karrueche Tran, Brown left the court a free man after being sentenced to time already served for the misdemeanor assault charge. Brown spent two days in a District of Columbia jail following the attack and two months in prison earlier this year (14) for a probation violation.
According to the AP, Brown spoke only briefly, saying: "I would like to say to the court that I'm sorry."
Brown’s bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, was previously convicted on an assault charge stemming from the incident.
With his sixth studio album, X, set for September 16th, Brown can now focus on delivering his music to fans.
