Music superstars Rihanna and Eminem kicked off their much-anticipated co-headlining “Monster Tour” on Thursday (Aug 7.) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.
According to Billboard, the show opened with a short Silence of the Lambs-inspired film that finds Sopranos star Michael Imperioli walking Rihanna down a San Quentin prison hall. This transitioned to a visual of the back of Eminem’s head and his trademark blonde hair, which sent the 90,000 concert-goers in attendance into a frenzy.
Rihanna then launched the show with "Numb," and Eminem joined her mid-song by appearing via a rising platform strapped to a stretcher.
Both Rihanna and Eminem performed tons of their hits during their solo sets, but the two also came together for songs like “No Love (Don’t Hurt Me),” “Run This Town,” “Won’t Back Down,” “Airplanes, Part II,” “Stan,” “Love The Way You Lie,” and “The Monster,” which the two performed to close the show.
Following “Won’t Back Down,” Eminem told the crowd, “Make Rihanna feel at home,” and she answered right back, “Make some noise for this white motherf*cker.”
During the show, it was evident that Rihanna and Eminem had great chemistry, which could be credited to their long history in working together, but some people are stirring other pots.
Where there is Rihanna, there is always a rumor about her dating any male she is around, and the latest culprit is Eminem.
A music industry source told Dish Nation that Rihanna and Eminem are mixing business with pleasure, insisting, “Rihanna is putting the moves on Em.”
Adds the source: “Rihanna is sick of dating drama, which is why she cut Chris Brown and Drake out of her life. Em’s been there too. He and his baby momma, Kim, had a stormy relationship, but now Em and Rihanna are both looking for stability. Em is super protective of Rihanna, he challenges her creatively, and he’s also very private with his private life and he’s a devoted, dad, all of which she loves.”
Not very believable, but it makes for good soup!
