Alicia Keys is making new career moves!
According to Billboard, the celebrated R&B artist has signed with Ron Laffitte and Guy Oseary at Maverick for management — the co-managers will partner with Keys' company AK Worldwide for music, entrepreneurial and philanthropic ventures.
Laffitte’s roster includes Pharrell Williams and OneRepublic while Oseary manages Madonna and U2.
This is Keys’ third management signing since arriving in music. She started off her career with Jeff Robinson before parting ways in 2010 and signing with Will Botwin at Red Light Management. Both deals ended “amicably.”
Keys is currently working on her sixth studio album, which she says will be more in depth.
“With this album, I find I have much more I want to talk about,” Keys told WWD. “This album is more about the concept, the thought I’m trying to get across, where in the past it’s been more about the melody. This time it’s more about what we’re going through as human beings. We all experience similar things. I find that the world puts us in these boxes where we’re only allowed to be one way… It’s about breaking down those boundaries. The songs concentrate on concepts like that. As human beings, we like to identify with something, and as for me, I love people with a strong point of view.”
