Ariana Grande is the first performer confirmed for the upcoming 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
The "Break Free" and "Problem" singer broke the news during the MTV special "Total Ariana Live" Wednesday, announcing that she will perform her new single, "Break Free."
The upcoming performance will be her first on the VMA main stage.
Last year, Grande performed a medley of songs, including "The Way," during the red carpet pre-show.
As previously reported, "Break Free" and "Problem" lead Grande's forthcoming album, "My Everything," which is due for release August 25 — just one day after the VMAs, which are scheduled to air Sunday, August 24.
