The Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight, is returning as a judge on the soon to premiere season of "Apollo Live."
During the upcoming season, which premieres tonight, Tuesday, July 1 on BET, Knight has a hand in deciding the fate of talent. She also has an opportunity to impart wisdom.
"The series will draw upon elements and traditions from the Apollo’s long-running weekly live Amateur Night show, including audience voting, and the infamous “Executioner” who sweeps unsuccessful performers off the stage. APOLLO LIVE is a BET Production and is executive produced by Jamie Foxx, Marcus King and Don Weiner," reports BET.
"Apollo Live" airs Tuesday nights, beginning July 1, at 10 p.m. on BET.
