BET Awards 2014: Beyonce, August Alsina, and Pharrell Top Winners

Surprises… Entertainment… Tributes… Comedy… Growth — A few of the words that comes to mind when you think about the 2014 BET Awards.

The show went off without a hitch, and the winners all deserved their awards in their respective categories.

Superstar Beyonce, who is currently on her “On The Run” tour with husband Jay Z, was the nights top winner, taking home awards for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best Collaboration, and the fan voting award “Fandemonium.”

While Beyonce was the top winner, Pharrell was the story of the night. Following his kick off performance with Missy Elliott, the hit-maker snagged trophies for Video of the Year and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

Newcomer August Alsina, who rocked the stage with Trey Songz and Chris Brown, was another big winner — he landed Best New Artist and the Viewers’ Choice award.
