In anticipation for his forthcoming EP, Stranger Than Fiction, Matt Palmer, unleashes a dynamic and upbeat cover to Mariah Carey's song "You Don't Know What To Do."
"I've been a huge fan of Mariah's ever since I heard "Fantasy" on the radio in third grade, so I knew I had to cover a song of hers when her new album came out. "You Don't Know What To Do" stood out to me as a return to form in the vein of "Emotions" and "Fantasy", and I knew I wanted to give it my own spin,” Matt tells Singersroom. “So once I put together the track, I called in videographer Trevor Beeler (who I'd worked with on my cover of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me") to shoot the cover video at Los Angeles rehearsal space Bedrock.LA. I really love how it turned out, and I hope you like it too!"
Stranger Than Fiction serves as Palmer’s first release as an openly gay musician. The R&B/Pop musician recently graduated from NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and has written for pop acts like Big Time Rush and Leon Thomas.
