It’s all good for Tina Campbell of the Grammy-winning duo Mary Mary: If you watched season three of their WeTV show, it’s been public knowledge that her marriage was on the rocks when her husband Teddy came clean about his many infidelities. As she told EBONY magazine last year, “I did physically try to stab him. Several times…I never got to the point of physical harm, not really, but my words…My words hurt.”
And now Tina is talking again, this time to Sister 2 Sister magazine, and she’s singing the praises of both her husband and religious convictions…her trust is stronger than ever!
With her faith restored in her marriage, Tina says, “All of my trust has come back. I love my husband more than I ever did. I am deeply in love with him…I don’t check on my husband. I don’t check his e-mails….And if I’m going to trust you and give you a chance, I’m going to give you a real chance and a real chance is not holding your hand and micromanaging.”
She continues, explaining how she needed to know all the intimate details of the affairs in order to heal. “I know every explicit detail of every single thing with every single affair…I needed to know…I was tortured. I was tortured dealing with that information, but guess what? I forgave every bit of it, and I love my husband immensely. I love him with all the passion that I have, and I trust him. I believe everything that he told me and I believe in him, and only God can do that.”
It takes a strong person to forgive, and it looks Tina has mastered the (oftentimes difficult) art of exoneration. Hats off to you, Tina, and congrats to a marriage saved!
