Jordin Sparks is prepping her third studio album for a possible fall release. The project will serve as her first offering in over five years, following 2009’s Battlefield.
"I have been trying so hard to get some music out!" the former American Idol winner tells ABC News Radio. "And sometimes it's not as easy as 'Let's put an album out.' Like, it just doesn't work that way. And sometimes I think my fans assume that, and it gets pretty frustrating 'cause it doesn't happen like that."
But new music is on the way as Jordin confirms that she is recording a few more songs to wrap the project and could possibly release a single this summer.
"I just had a really amazing meeting with the label and everything and I'm pretty sure we're good to go," she adds. "So, I'm gonna get back in the studio, record the last couple of songs, 'cause we got a whole bunch recorded already, and then, I want [a] single at the end of summer, [and then a] fall [album] release."
Although Jordin has been on a long music hiatus, she has been making power moves with her acting career, appearing in "Sparkle" and "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete," plus she has a new film coming this year called "Left Behind" with Nicolas Cage.
