Indie singer, songwriter Adia launches the music video for her new single “Rags to Riches,” a record from her forthcoming debut album, Behind Enemy Lines, slated to drop July 29th. In the intense clip, the 22-year-old St. Louis-born, Chicago-bred songstress highlights the abuse a female can face as she transitions from a child to an adult. Day26’s Willie Taylor, a Chicago native, plays Adia’s abusive love interest.
Adia’s upcoming opus will be based on her life experiences, especially the passing of a loved one. “My aunt passed away in 2011 and I don’t know why but that experience really got to me,” she says. “I re-evaluated where I was in my life and whether I was in alignment or not. I realized that I wasn’t and it all had to do with my music.”
She wants her music to show people what real life looks like, how real faith works and how music — in its most real and honest form — can help to lighten loads and transform lives.
