With her album Me. I am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse set to arrive on May 27, Mariah Carey visited late night talk show David Letterman to discuss her 3-year-old twins, and promote the LP among other things (including why she’s been pushing the date back).
We learn about her son Moroccan’s name and boxing talents (“I like the name Rocky actually, but I didn’t wanna name him Rocky…and now he’s punching kids though, that’s the problem.”)
As for the album, Mariah says she’s trying to keep it like the music industry used to be with cohesive albums instead of a single-based market: “I keep changing the date and it’ sonly cause I want people to experience this album as a body of work…I’m just trying to do something my own way, which is more like the way we used to do.”
In response to the reaction about the dramatic album title, she also hipped fans on to the app created by TIME Magazine called “Make Your Own Iconic Mariah Carey Album Title,” where fans can enter their name and get an over-the-top-album title with their name. (Didn’t work for Mariah on live TV, but click here to try the app out).
