August Alsina and Jason Derulo have far exceeded projections for their new releases, "Testimony" and "Talk Dirty."
According to Billboard, both albums have debuted within the top 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week.
First up is Alsina, whose "I Luv This Sh*t" led album, "Testimony," arrives at no.2 on the chart with 67,000 copies sold.
Far above initial projections, "Testimony" makes it debut atop the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally as well.
Featuring its popular title track, Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" debuts at no. 4 on the Billboard 200 this week thanks to sales of 44,000 copies.
"Derulo's "Talk Dirty" scores the pop singer's best sales week as well, exceeding the 42,000 copies of his self-titled debut that he sold in its first week in 2010," reports Billboard. "The latter album also tallied his previous high-water mark, when it debuted and peaked at No. 11.Derulo's new album — his third full-length effort — is powered by its title track, which hit No. 1 on the Pop Songs airplay chart dated April 26."
In related news, Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" single has reached the 3 million mark in sales. According to Chart News, the single, featuring 2 Chainz, has officially sold 3,062,000 copies to date.
