Hate it or love it, it’s official: Kandi Burrus is now Mrs. Kandi Tucker!
After an emotional struggle between her and her mother Joyce's disdain of the then-pending marriage, Kandi and Todd tied the knot on Friday, April 4, and yes, Mama Joyce attended, but the question is, did she act out?
A rep for her mother tells Us Weekly that not only did she attend, she gave an emotional toast to her daughter and new son-in-law in front of family and friends at the reception! “If she is happy then I am happy for her,” Mama Joyce told RadarOnline in March. “I’m not going to stand up when they ask if anyone has any objections. I don’t have anything to say.”
And if Kandi’s reaction was any indication, it really was a great day for all involved. "This is one of the best days of my life! I never imagined that I would marry my best friend,” she told In Touch magazine. “Todd’s been that to me and to have just had the wedding of my dreams, it’s all been so beautiful. Now it’s time to party!” She then added the next day on Twitter, “Last night was the best night of my life!"
Eventually we’ll see what exactly DID go down at the ceremony, which was captured by The Real Housewives of Atlanta cameras and will air on the Bravo network as a wedding spin-off later this year.
The couple got engaged in January 2013, and ever since Mama Joyce has been publically vocal on not trusting Todd’s intentions. Kandi even produced the stage production A Mother’s Love loosely based on the very public situation.
Congrats to the happy couple!
