Katy Perry has Pop, R&B and Hip-Hop heads all digging her new single "Dark Horse," featuring Memphis rapper Juicy J. Perry performed the genre-crossing song at this year’s Grammy’s with a huge production, with all the theatrics of a Broadway show, and it looks like the video will bring the noise, too!
In a teaser clip, Katy plays “Katy Patra” a spin on ancient Egyptian ruler Cleopatra. “According to legend there was a magical queen in Memphis, Egypt. Every eclipse, kings would travel from Brooklyn to Babylon to win her heart. If she fell in love, you’d be top dawg. If she didn’t, her wrath would leave you whimpering,” the preview explains, right before zooming in on Perry who's wearing ancient Egyptian garb and sporting a bejeweled grill.
“Dark Horse” is from Katy’s latest album Prism, for which she’ll be hitting the road to promote on the “Prismatic World Tour” this spring (check dates here).
