Kelis' return to music is proving to be quite refreshing. Today, an emotional track called "Farewell" has surfaced, uploaded by the song's producer BassHitter, the same producer of her melancholy ballad "Been Given A Morning."
On "Farewell," her raspy, airy voice emotes well-wishes on departing from past negativities and her former self…a bittersweet ode to growth. "But I’ve been born again now, this is just the end," she emotionally sings.
Judging from the tracklist from her upcoming album Food, "Farewell" (unfortunately) isn’t a part of the project, but this is a sublime treat from Kelis!
Food is due April 22; a project she describes as "a kind of unspoken loveliest."
