Rihanna To Join Shakira On New Single, Album Due in 2014?

Are Rihanna and Shakira readying a single to debut in 2014? According to a series of reports, Shakira has tapped Rihanna for a collaboration on her upcoming studio album.

Slated for release Spring 2014, the new album comes just in time for Shakira's return to "The Voice" (NBC) in February.

Led by an as-yet-untitled single slated for release in January, the new album will be Shakira's first in three years. Her last album, "Sale el Sol," was released in 2010. Prior to that she released "She Wolf" in 2009.

Even though it's unclear what the title of the first single is, Shakira has already shot the music video for the single.

"I Just finished the video for my first single with director Joseph Kahn!" Shakira wrote on Twitter Dec. 8.

Shakira has sold close to 60 million albums worldwide and has won numerous awards, including two Grammys, nine Latin Grammys, four World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and five Billboard Music Awards.
